Ham in a Hurry

I purchased an 8 lb. fully cooked spiral-sliced ham half. Select the basketball shaped half not the piece "with a bone handle".

Because I cook for two , I immediately removed the first seven full slices and wrapped them for freezing. If you prefer, use the entire ham.

Wrap the ham loosely; keep wrap loose and the ham covered.Heat the ham in a 400% oven for 30 to 40 minutes.

Drizzle some hot mustard cut with 2 tbls of maple syrup over the ham when it is removed from the oven.

Choose packaged or frozen vegetable side dishes and dinner can be on the table in less than an hour. I served scalloped potatoes and "Martha White" Poppy Seed muffins both of which can be cooked along side the ham. A green salad completes the meal.

After dinner, cut all pieces of meat from the bone, save the bone, but discard all fat. Save any pan juices in the fridge until any fat there hardens and can be removed.

Use the ham bone and some ham pieces in Brother Bruce's Bean Soup.

Use the ham pieces in any of the following LEFTOVERS recipes:

Sour Cream and ham baked casserole
Grilled ham and Irish cheese sandwich
Ham and pineapple salad

Use the seven reserved ham pieces for a new round of LEFTOVERS meals.:

Ham and RED HOTS apple sauce
Ham in Raisin sauce
Ham with Hot Mustard and Honey glaze
